Large Luckenbooth, screen printed by hand onto super smooth plywood and signed on the back. The Luckenbooth is 37cm in height and 28cm wide, it is designed to be hung or propped.
The Luckenbooth is traditionally given as a love token made of silver and pinned as a brooch. Mary Queen of Scots and Lord Darnley are said to have exchanged Luckenbooths. The Luckenbooth was also pinned to the shawl of a new born baby as it was seen as a way to ward off evil spirits.
